Needs

Zombie Prince is an street wear apparel brand. The Zombie Prince graphic is used in many of their brand materials and apparel collateral. Inspired by the brands like Sanrio and Todidoki, the Zombie Prince brand models after their character-lead designs and products. The graphic designed for the brand is of a skull with an exposed brain and a crown on top.

This project was originally a typography assignment. I later changed it into a pattern design project. The Zombie Prince design steps away from the cocktail drink which it is named after into a more refined and cool brand.

Solutions

The initial design was a wordmark. The fonts were used to illustrate the white bones still encased in dark flesh is strong contrast to a regal, serif-font. The use of a crown was a motif that carried on to the current design.

The updated brand font leans towards a more modest look. The graphic element already gives a strong visual, therefore the purpose of the type is then to only further support the look and feel.
